Chapter 1 – For the First Time in Forever

You were peacefully sleeping, until a loud knocking came from your door… door? Weren’t you just in the library?

You sat up, some of your drool dripping from your hand you were laying on. You wiped it off on your pajamas. Pajamas?! Okay, something wasn’t right. Another knock came from your bedroom door.

“Princess ___...?” Princess? Who was this guy? You clear your throat, brushing some of your hair out of your face.

“…Yeah?” You answered.

“Sorry to wake you, ma’am but it’s time to get ready.” Now you were really confused.

“Ready for what?” You asked.

“Your sister’s coronation, ma’am.” Sister? What was going on?! Wait… was this Frozen. You’ve never seen the movie (unlike millions of others), but you remember your friend telling you a bit about the story. Lucky you, she didn’t spoil everything.

You got up, seeing a fancy (F/C) dress. Looks like you were gonna have to put that on.

After several gruesome minutes you got the dress on and pinned your hair up with ribbons. You threw open the doors, to meet the hustle and bustle of the castle. Some music began and you were grateful you’ve listened to the Frozen soundtrack about a hundred times.

“The window is open! So's that door! I didn't know they did that anymore. Who knew we owned 8000 salad plates...?” You take off your shoes, sliding across the ballroom floor. “For years I have roamed these empty halls, why have a ballroom with no balls? Finally, they're opening up the gates!

“There'll be real, actual people - It'll be totally strange. But wow am I so ready for this change!” You shake hands with one of the suits of armor, accidently breaking the arm off. You sheepishly put it back, running to the window. You then jump out onto the window washer’s pully, using it to raise yourself up to see the arriving ships. “For the first time in forever, there'll be music, there'll be light. For the first time in forever, I'll be dancing through the night.

“Don't know if I’m elated or gassy, but I’m somewhere in that zone, 'cause for the first time in forever, I won't be alone.” You drop down into a garden and see a family of geese. You awed at them and followed them a bit, speaking. “I can’t wait to meet everyone... what if I meet the one?

“Tonight, imagine me gown and all fetchingly draped against the wall. The picture of sophisticated grace.” You run inside, twisting yourself up in a velvet drape, like it’s a gown. You act like you’re gorgeous, even though you knew you probably looked ridiculous. You untwist yourself, running up to the bust of a man across the room. “I suddenly see him standing there, a beautiful stranger tall and fair.

“I wanna stuff some chocolate in my face!” You grabbed the bust swinging it around. “But then we laugh and talk all evening, which is totally bizarre. Nothing like the life I’ve led so far.

“For the first time in forever, there'll be magic, there'll be fun. For the first time in forever, I could be noticed by someone. And I know it is totally crazy to dream I’d find romance. But for the first time in forever, at least I’ve got a chance!” The bust slipped from your grasp, hitting the top of the cake. You become sheepish, again, running into a separate room. You found yourself in a portrait room and smiled, as you bounced on the furniture and interacted with the paintings. You paused in your activities. This was Elsa’s part, but… who was Elsa?

You could hear a faint singing above you, as you left the portrait room. You shook it off and smiled as you walked up to the front doors. You pushed them open, running out.

“It's only for today! It's agony to wait!!! The gate!!!” The gate opens, as you move into the crowd. You admired all the people around you, as you continued to sing. “For the first time in forever. I'm getting what I’m dreaming of.

“A chance to leave my lonely world. A chance to find true love.” You hurry over the bridge that led over to the castle and dropped down into the village square. “I know it all ends tomorrow, so it has to be today!! ‘Cause for the first time in forever... For the first time in forever!

“Nothing's in my way!!!” You ran forward, just as a horse came into view. You fall backwards into a small wooden boat, which tips off the dock. Right, before you could fall into the water, the horse slams its foot down, steadying the boat. You become frustrated, looking up to your attacker. “Hey!”

“I’m so sorry, lass. Are ya hurt?” Just then, a somewhat familiar redhead appeared. The bright green eyes were a big give away, too. This was Scotland. Your freaking Hetalia crush. You immediately blushed.

“Hey. I- ya, no. No. I’m okay.” You reassure him in a gentler tone.

“Are ya sure?” He asked.

“Yeah, I just wasn’t looking where I was going. But I’m okay.” You said, brushing it off. He then hopped off his horse, stepping into the boat. “I’m great, actually.”

“Thank goodness.” He offers a hand to you, as your eyes met. You felt your heart skip a beat, looking into his emerald eyes. You take his hand, as he carefully helps you up. Once you’re on your feet, he mock bows. “Prince Allistor of the Scottish isles.

“Princess ___ of Arendelle.” You replied, mock curtseying.

“Princess...? My Lady.” Allistor’s eyes widen, as he bows his head to you. The horse sees what his master does and follows his lead, but he pulls his hoof off the boat doing so. The boat begins to tip, again, as Allistor is knocked off his feet, landing on top of you. Awkward.
