Chapter 2 - Once Upon a Dream

“I'm awfully sorry. I didn't mean to frighten you.” He apologized, but he kept the small smile on his face. You kept trying to get a way, feeling embarrassed.

“It wasn't that. It's just that you're a… a-“

“A stranger?” He answered. You nodded your head, stopping your struggles to look at him. He was just as handsome as you imagined he would be if you met him and you felt your cheeks begin to heat up more.

“But don't you remember? We've met before.” He answered nonchalantly. You gaped a bit at his response.

“We-we have?” You stuttered slightly.

“Of course, You said so yourself, once upon a dream.” He let go of your hand and you turned away, beginning to walk away, as he began to sing the song with the bits he heard earlier. “I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream. I know you, the gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam.”

He caught up to you and held out his hand. With a bit of hesitation, you took it and he began to lead you in a waltz. The both of you danced around a lake, as you both quietly sang the song together.

“And I know it's true, that visions are seldom all they seem. But if I know you, I know what you'll do. You’ll love me at once the way you did once upon a dream.” You both slowed down your dance, as you held hands and walked up a small hill. You found yourself at the same spot you were at when you saw the castle. You both leaned against the tree and Greece slowly put an arm around you.

“Who are you, what's your name?” He asked softly.

“My name. Why, it's, it’s…" You then remembered what the BTT told you and you slightly backed up. “Oh no, I can't, I ... Goodbye!”

“But when will I see you again?” Greece asked, as you began to run away.

“Never!” You answered bluntly.

“Never?” He seemed confused.

“Well, maybe someday.” You paused to look back at him.

“When, tomorrow?” He asked. You thought about it for a moment.

“Oh no, this evening.” You answered.

“Where?” He asked once more.

“…At the cottage, in the glen.” You hurriedly answered, before making your way back to the cottage, again. You knew you had to keep this from the BTT, but you didn’t see any harm in Greece. Actually, he probably wouldn’t hurt a fly.

You walked up to your cottage, humming ‘Once Upon a Dream’. You heard some commotion inside and raised an eyebrow. What could those three be up to?… Nevermind, you didn’t want to know. You open the door and quietly walk inside. You couldn’t see anyone in sight.

“Marianne, Isabel, Julchen! Where is everybody?” You called. You stepped in more and found the most gorgeous dress and the most delicious looking cake.

“Surprise!” The three popped out of nowhere.

“Happy birthday!” Isabel ran up and hugged you, spinning you around a bit.

“Oh thank you, this is the happiest day of my life. Everything's so wonderful, just wait till you meet him.” You covered your mouth slightly, when you realized your mistake.

“Him?” Isabel’s eyes widened.

“___!” Julchen exclaimed.

“You've met some stranger?” Marianne sounded worried.

“He's not a stranger, we've met before.” You tried to answer calmly. To be honest, now you were worried you wouldn’t see Greece, again.

“You have?” Marianne asked in disbelief.

“Where?” Julchen hurriedly asked.

“Once upon a dream!” You took Isabel’s hands and began to lead her in a dance, singing. “I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream…”

“She's in love.” Isabel stated, as you finally let her go.

“Oh no…” Julchen looked away, muttering. “So not awesome…”

“This is terrible!” Marianne exclaimed, pacing around the room.

“Why? After all, I am getting older.” You stated, though you were a bit startled by their responses.

“It isn't that, dear.” Marianne sighed.

“You're already betrothed.” Isabel looked down.

“Betrothed?” You looked at them surprised. You couldn’t believe what they were saying.

“Since the day you were born.” Julchen folded her arms.

“To a prince.” Isabel added, trying to make you feel a bit better. But now you felt worse.

“But that's impossible! How could I marry a prince, I'd have to be-“

“A princess?” Julchen raised an eyebrow.

“And you are!” Isabel smiled.

“Princess ___. Tonight, we're taking you back to your father, King (Father’s Name).” Marianne answered, in a regal tone.

“But, but I can't! He's coming here tonight, I promised to meet him.” You exclaimed, and were  talking about Greece. You couldn’t just leave and have him come to an empty house.

“I'm sorry, but you must never see that young man again.” Marianne seemed just as depressed as you were with the words she spoke. You opened your mouth to retort, but instead shut it. You felt tears prick your eyes, as you ran away and up to your room. You hopped onto your bed and began to cry into your pillow. Not only were you going to disappoint Greece, but now you had to marry a man you didn’t even know.

You walked through the woods, the Bad Touch Trio around you protectively. You looked down, watching your feet as you walked ahead. You were walking to your castle, but with a heavy heart. The castle came into view and Marianne walked up to the door and opened it carefully. You all entered and were lead through a vast amount of hallways and rooms.

Finally you ended in one that looked like a royal bedroom. Your room to be exact.

“All right, in here, dear.” Marianne ushered you all in. Julchen was the last one in and quickly closed the door behind her.

“Lock the door, Julchen! Isabel, pull the drapes! And now, dear, if you'll just sit here. This one last gift, dear child for thee, the symbol of thy royalty.” Marianne pulled out a wand that glowed slightly, as she summoned a simple crown. She gently placed it on your head. “A crown to wear in grace and beauty, as is thy right, and royal duty.”
